Candy asks for less at checkout. OurDream puts ten times more credit in your balance each month and lets its users build the catalogue.
What they are, and where each one pulls ahead.
We pay for OurDream Premium every month, so this half of the page comes from our own account. The 18.99 EUR plan (all OurDream tiers side by side) drops 1,000 coins into the balance each month, and chatting on the default model costs nothing (we sent 280 messages and the counter never moved). Coins go to pictures, clips, premium voices and the thinking models. Characters are made by users, which brings volume and variety along with uneven quality. When a story runs long, group chats, pinned memories and state trackers keep it together.
Candy AI keeps its shelf small and curated: 247 official characters, all produced by the company, with Stories, Shorts and live actions built around them. The entry fee is low, 13.99 a month or 3.99 a month if you commit for a year. The catch sits in the allowance. Premium includes 100 tokens a month, and even at 4 tokens per image and 12 per 5-second scene video, that envelope empties quickly. Memory means one slot on Premium and twenty on Premium Plus. Billing runs through EverAI, a company based in Malta.
Every comparison on this wiki uses this grid. A crown means that side is ahead on the line; the scales mean it is too close to call.
On price alone, Candy wins and it is not close: 3.99 a month on its yearly plan is less than half of what OurDream asks for the same commitment. The picture flips once you count what the money buys. Our 1,000 monthly coins pay for 200 images at 10 coins a pair, while Candy's 100 tokens cover 25 images, or eight short scene videos, and then you are shopping for a token pack (100 tokens cost 9.99, the biggest pack is 3,750 tokens for 299.99). Short clips come out roughly level, since 10 OurDream clips and 8 Candy scenes each eat a month of credit. Voice calls are the one place where Candy is clearly cheaper per minute. DreamGF runs on a similar token model, 100 a month and 10 per image, so how its renewal price stacks up is worth a glance too.
The other difference is taste. Candy's 247 characters are written by the house, which keeps the tone consistent. OurDream's Explore page is a crowd: we counted 4,893 distinct characters from 1,428 creators in one sample, plus group chats where several of them reply in the same thread. If you only want one companion and a predictable bill, Candy is the sensible choice. If you want to roam, build scenes with several characters or generate in volume, OurDream gives more for each euro spent. Our coin calculator helps you size a month before paying. If neither one suits you, our wider list of alternatives covers the other apps we looked at.
At checkout, yes: 13.99 a month against 18.99 EUR, and 3.99 against 9.50 EUR a month on yearly billing. Per image, OurDream comes out ahead because Premium includes 1,000 coins instead of 100 tokens.
Candy offers a demo with 5 messages, 1 image and 1 custom character. OurDream lets free accounts chat at 1 coin per message, but images and videos need a subscription, and the help center says it does not hand out free coins. The limits of a free OurDream account are set out on their own page.
OurDream does: several characters share one thread and each reply is labelled with the speaker. Candy AI has no group chat.
