ChallengerSpicyChatWhat they are, and where each one pulls ahead.
We use OurDream on a paid Premium plan, and it feels like a media studio with chat attached. The 18.99 EUR subscription brings 1,000 coins every month: we spent 10 coins on each pair of images and 100 on a 5-second clip. Text chat on the default model stayed free across 280 messages. The creator walks you through looks, voice and hobbies, and the Explore page holds thousands of characters made by users. Read aloud with the default voice cost us nothing.
SpicyChat's public subscribe page is refreshingly plain. The free plan gives unlimited messages with ads. Get a Taste (5.95 EUR) removes the ads and adds a memory manager and up to 10 personas. True Supporter (19.95 EUR) doubles memory to 8K context and unlocks images inside the chat. I'm All In (29.95 EUR) goes to 32K context, the best models and voice replies. Yearly billing saves 17 %. The home search returned about 380,000 results, and Lorebooks and group chats sit in the menu.
Every comparison on this wiki uses this grid. A crown means that side is ahead on the line; the scales mean it is too close to call.
These two sell different things, so the cheaper one depends on what you do. If your evening is mostly typing, SpicyChat is hard to beat: its free plan does not count messages, Get a Taste is 5.95 EUR, and it is upfront about memory (4K, 8K or 32K tokens of context depending on the tier). OurDream does not publish a context size for Premium, and its free accounts pay 1 coin per message (how far the free tier goes). That is a real point for SpicyChat.
Add pictures and the balance tips. SpicyChat lists images only inside chats and only from 19.95 EUR, voice only at 29.95 EUR, and we found no video generator on its subscribe page. At a similar 18.99 EUR, OurDream gives a full image studio, a video tab and 1,000 coins to feed them (the default voice read aloud for free on our account). Paid yearly, OurDream drops to 9.50 EUR a month, below SpicyChat's middle tier. So: pure text, go SpicyChat; characters you want to see as well as read, go OurDream. Our image generator guide shows what the coins pay for, and the rest of our alternatives shortlist includes other text-first apps.
Yes. Its free plan offers unlimited messages with ads. CrushOn, another text-first option, reportedly allows 50 free messages a day (our CrushOn matchup). OurDream's free accounts pay 1 coin per message and cannot generate images or videos.
SpicyChat lists in-chat images from the True Supporter tier (19.95 EUR). We did not see video generation on its subscribe page. OurDream has a separate image generator and a video tab, paid with coins.
SpicyChat publishes numbers: 4K, 8K or 32K context depending on the tier. OurDream offers automatic memory, pinned memories and state trackers, and Deluxe advertises 3x chat memory, but it does not state a context size.
