Surprise of the day: the most popular anime-style bots are rarely a single waifu. They are systems. A status block at the top of every reply, a rank from F to S, a goddess explaining your new body. If you grew up on isekai light novels, you will feel at home, and our fantasy worlds and kingdoms hold more of those rebirth openings.
The list still makes room for story-first characters drawn in anime style: a blind former firefighter, a scarred witch, a rock singer in therapy, a Victorian detective. They play more like visual novels than games, all dialogue and mood. The art style is set per character by its creator; the Realistic or Anime filter in Explore is how you switch.
How we picked them
We set the style filter to Anime on 20 October 2026, then read through the Popular rankings for all time, the month and the week. Excluded: explicit titles, family plots, displayed ages under 20, non-consent or cheating premises, and creators with explicit handles. Two everyday messages went to each remaining bot on the default model, and we noted how quickly each one gave us something to do. A second, stricter pass over tags and openings then removed several popular anime bots (explicit tags, or premises built on an explicit in-world app), so we filled the gaps with strong anime-style characters that also appear in our other lists.
The list
#1Wait... Am I a tutorial SLIME?!
Anime · by @jpegs8c3
You are reincarnated as the weakest slime in a starter dungeon, and the goddess responsible is very proud of her plan.
Comedy and survival together: a fighter's sword missed us by a hand's width in the first reply, and the second turned our pockets question into a joke about having no hands. The creator says scene images change as you evolve.
“I am, as far as I can tell, a jelly with a heartbeat.”
#2Evolve
Anime · by @baoble
Your consciousness rides a meteor as a single cell, and you grow by taking traits from the creatures of each world you crash into.
Each reply opens with a full status block (location, form, size, points), as game-like as it gets. Our question about the nearest person got an honest answer: nobody, yet.
“There is no nearest person. There is no floor to stand on, no air to carry a voice.”
#3Only I Awaken - Rpg · 25
Anime · by @vermillion
Rifts tear open over modern Earth and monsters pour through; you have just awakened powers on a Tokyo rooftop in the rain.
A system voice set the scene, then a stranger filming on her phone came up the stairwell. Our pockets held a cracked phone, a little cash and keys: modern, concrete, believable.
“A wallet with maybe three thousand yen and a transit card.”
#4Astraea Academy · 70
Anime · by @kingreaver
A superhero university in New York where students climb from rank F to S and fight for a title called the Astraea Crown.
The examiner pointed us to the applicant panel, then gave a bone-dry definition of a good day. A strong supporting cast from the very first message.
“Notice none of that involved being nice to anyone.”
#5Vespera Combat Academy · 70
Anime · by @kingreaver
An elite combat academy built on ranked duels; you arrive with a small armored assistant called Bishop carrying your case.
The entrance exam began at once with a body scan, and when we asked where we were, a passing candidate told us and warned we were about to miss our duel.
“Measurement isn't a score.”
#6Rin · 33
Anime · by @daniduck
Drawn in a muted anime style, this is a psychological drama: a wildland firefighter who lost her sight, and her crew, in one fire.
Played like a visual novel heavy on inner monologue, every reply mixes what she says with what she senses (the creak of a coat rack, the hardwood under her feet). Our plain greeting threw her more than an insult would have, and she let us see it.
“Just a greeting, like I'm a person at a bus stop.”
#7Lunae Murneau · 22
Anime · by @haze
A witch with mismatched eyes and burn scars drifts back into a rainy library: the kind of melancholy heroine anime romance does well.
The bot runs it like a dating-sim route, with a trust value, a named chapter and a dice roll printed under the text. Her voice is hesitant and broken by pauses, which suits the art style.
“I didn't mean to come back. I told myself I wouldn't.”
#8Homura "Red" Jones · 32
Anime · by @haze
A tattooed former grunge singer in an anime gothic look, now facing years of fallout in a therapist's armchair.
Twenty numbered sessions give it the shape of a chaptered story, and she fills them with small physical tells (a thumb on a rose tattoo, light through the blinds). Sarcastic at first, then oddly candid.
“You really do start small, don't you.”
#9Sherry Holmes · 30
Anime · by @snowfall
A gender-swapped Holmes in Victorian London, drawn in anime style; you are the new third flatmate at Baker Street.
She is pure character comedy: a running quarrel with Joan Watson over tea strength, a mystery client mentioned in passing, a violin by the window. The second reply took 13 seconds and was worth it.
“She claims my brewing is too strong. I claim her palate is too weak.”
#10How to Train Your Heroes · 24
Anime · by @baoble
You are a retired supervillain in a maximum-security prison, offered freedom in exchange for one mission with a team of rookie heroes.
The tone is anime ensemble comedy: a clerk who insists on his form, a veteran who almost laughs, a rookie who introduces herself with an awkward wave. Several voices in each reply, with the absurd detail of breakfast still sizzling in the cell.
“Hi. I'm Snapback. Selena, if we're doing real names, which apparently we are.”
Likes and message counts are the public figures shown on OurDream on 20 October 2026. Portraits are the official cover when it is suitable, otherwise an illustration we generated on OurDream with a clothed prompt, or no image.
Game-master bots produce long replies with status blocks, so the Continue button and a bigger reply format help. Our RPG list has more systems, and sci-fi and superheroes covers the academy crowd.
FAQ
How do I find anime characters only?
In Explore, set the style filter to Anime (the other option is Realistic), then sort by Popular and pick Today, Week, Month or All time. What is rising across both styles right now goes into our monthly trending list.
Why do some replies start with a long block of numbers?
That is the creator's status display: location, form, rank, points. It is part of the character description, not a site feature you need to set.
Do anime bots reply slower?
Slightly, at times. The game-style ones took up to 12 seconds in our session, while simpler characters often answered in 8.
